Best Dressed of The Week
It’s that hectic time of year where film festivals, fashion weeks, and award ceremonies are all flooding the world of celebrity style.
This week there was definitely no lack of fashion on the red carpet, in fact there were so many outstanding looks I found it quite difficult to narrow it down to only ten. Landing at #1 is a woman who always brings her own flavor to whatever she wears. Rihanna launched her highly anticipated cosmetics line Fenty Beauty during New York Fashion Week. The Grammy winner wore a custom made canary yellow creation by Oscar de la Renta paired with lace up gladiator sandals by René Caovilla. I absolutely love the vibrant color against her beautiful, warm skin and piercing green eyes. It also didn’t hurt that the ensemble perfectly matched her “Trophy Wife” highlighter. Promoting her latest film “Mother!”, Jennifer Lawrence kept the fashion momentum going in a body-hugging gown by Atelier Versace. I have not been the biggest fan of the JLaw/Dior union so it’s been refreshing to see her wearing other designers again. While I’m usually not on board with what the Kardashian/Jenner clan wears, there was no denying that Kendall’s Giambattista Valli Couture gown at the Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards was Best Dressed worthy. The high-low skirt and accompanying train made the look both youthful and chic, and the icing on the cake was her stunning emerald and diamond choker. Back at the Venice Film Festival the couture fun continued, this time with Penelope Cruz. The ‘Loving Pablo’ star took the film’s premiere by storm in a feathery white frock by Donatella Versace. The embroidery and embellishment helped up the movie star ante in this showstopping piece, and made Penelope one of my favorites from the festival.
