Best Dressed of The Week
Colorful gowns, cascading ruffles, and twinkling fringe are just a few of my favorite things from the red carpet this week.
The New York City Ballet’s 2017 Fall Fashion Gala brought all the glamour with one stunning look after another. One of my all-time favorite ladies, the forever divine Sarah Jessica Parker captured sophisticated glitz like only she can. The “Divorce” star dazzled in a shimmery midnight blue Monse design detailed with lots and lots of fringe. Michelle Monaghan was a colorful dream in her floor sweeping Prabal Gurung gown. I love the mix of oceany blue and palm tree green, both refreshing and undeniably chic. Malin Akerman went for prints in a red floral piece by Johanna Ortiz, which fit her like a glove. Johanna’s pieces are becoming a staple on the red carpet, I see her name more and more every week and for good reason. At the New York Film Festival, Dakota Johnson was a showstopper in beautiful black and white ruffles. The designing duo behind Proenza Schouler (Jack& Lazaro) have gotten so good at their craft I can easily spot their work from a mile away. These ruffles are a perfect example, and it’s just the right amount. Dakota’s red carpet style continues to evolve and I am here for it. She’s young, fresh, and tries new things. Which is why she is such a delight to watch having fun with fashion.
