Outfit Inspiration: Prada Pinup
Prada’s Fall 2017 Ready To Wear collection is greatly inspired by the glamour and style of the ’20’s, ’50s and ’60s. Femme fatales and pinups girls, crystal embellishments, ostrich feathers, and fur-trimmed frocks all ooze an inevitable old Hollywood appeal.
This week’s Outfit Inspiration is celebrating the Prada collection with one of my favorite pieces from the runway. This sleeveless, shift-style, coated cotton dress has been printed with a dark haired starlet girl emphasizing a retro flapper vibe. Keeping the glamour strong, Manolo Blahnik’s ‘Hangisi’ pump adds just the right amount of razzle, dazzle. A bejeweled buckle-like ornament sparkles at the pointy toe of an elegant satin pump in a perfect, complementing shade of steely blue. Injecting a little art deco into the look, Judith Leiber’s jazz age clutch has Italian resin bars with Austrian crystal trim and an optional shoulder strap. A pair of sparkling light peach stud earrings by Jessica Simpson round out the accessories, adding just the right amount of jewelry. For the beauty part of the look, I took the eyes down a bold route with YSL Beauty’s Couture Metallics Eyeshadow in ‘Wet Blue’. Keeping the nails looking soft and subtle, I went for Deborah Lipmann. The brand offers some of the best formulas in the nail biz, her ‘Peaches & Cream’ shade brings out the intense strokes of apricot shown on our pretty Prada. I imagine this outfit to be what a girl of the Gatsby era would wear to one of his famous parties today. Fun, feminine, and fabulous!
