Beauty Report: Anastasia Beverly Hills Holiday 2017 Collection
Anastasia Beverly Hills is easily one of my top 5 favorite brands, so when holiday pieces start to roll out I become very excited.
This year the brand is introducing several items just in time for the holiday season. After lukewarm reponse to their Subculture palette, ABH is moving forward with a new effort that is just as unique. The Prism palette is filled with bold shimmers and buttery mattes in a variety of unexpected shades. While several of these colors intrigue me, I can’t help but wonder how many cohesive looks one can create with such a palette. The more I look at the shades the more I have come to the conclusion that this palette is for more of the ABH collector than just your average makeup consumer. While the colors are lovely, for those wanting one palette they can take everywhere, this isn’t going to be it. With that being said I purchase almost every palette by the brand and will probably end up with this one in my collection. Saturn, Eternal, Unity, Pyramid, and Parallel are all speaking to me.
A brand new eyeshadow palette isn’t the only exciting item in the lot. Anastasia is also introducing two new blush kits ‘Radiant’ which is a mix of pinks and corals that will look beautiful on light to medium skintones, and ‘Gradient’ a combination of rich berry and browns that is ideal for deeper skin. There is also a brand new sugar themed Glow Kit. The color range is on the softer side with the shades “Marshmallow,” “Butterscotch,”Starburst”, and “Gumdrop”. I usually steer away from pinky toned highlighters, but “Butterscotch” and “Gumdrop” are calling my name.
ABH couldn’t do holidays without covering lips. The brand has created three new liquid lipsticks “Trouble” (beige mauve), “Starfish” (browish peach), and “Rock Sand” (rosy brown). There will also be a mini set great for stocking stuffing. “Dazed,” “Bittersweet,” and “Hudson” is a collection of shades more on the warmer side with dark orange, deep read, and rich brown colors. “Trouble” will be a Sephora exclusive, while “Rock Sand” will only be found at Macy’s. A lot to keep up with I know, and though it hasn’t been confirmed I am assuming all shades will be available through the ABH website.
I really like that the ABH team had gift giving in mind with these new pieces. A pretty blush set or unique eyeshadow palette are the perfect presents for the makeup lover in your life.
