Beauty Report: Beautyblender Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation
The Beautyblender applicator sponge has become a staple in most every makeup lover’s holy grail collection, and now they are taking their success into new territory with a brand new full-coverage foundation.
The new addition has already created massive internet buzz, first with the surprise announcement of the product as well as it’s shade range-or lack there of. The brand is starting off the liquid foundation collection with a 32 shade range, which is actually a pretty impressive number. Unfortunately early previews showed that the darker shades were few and far between. While there are plenty of light-medium options, the darker colors appear to be vast, and even a little orange. But, after seeing the response from loyal customers Beautyblender has already promised to be adding even more shades very soon. While I applaud them for addressing the matter, I always find it a bit disheartening when a new product comes out and it feels like it isn’t available to all skintones to try. Beautyblender has been very sincere in addressing the matter and I have no doubt they will be keeping their promise of warmer shades in the near future.
The formula is full coverage, but lightweight and promises to last 24 hours. Now in reality no one should keep makeup on their face for a full day, but I get where they were going with this. After watching beauty guru and makeup mogul Jeffree Star try out the foundation on his Youtube channel I have to say it left me very impressed. His skin (which is already pretty darn amazing) looked blurred of any pores or imperfections and while it offered amazing coverage, it didn’t look the least bit caked on or heavy. The packaging of this product is definitely an eye-catcher. The innovative component features a concave-like palette in the shape of the brand’s famous sponge. I love how you can pump it out onto this tray-like surface and simply dip your blender in. This sort of method could of course get messy, but it’s nothing a makeup wipe can’t handle.
The bouncy new foundation retails for $40 (reasonable for a higher end product) and is now available online on Beautyblender’s official website as well as Sephora.
