Beauty News: Dolly Parton To Release Fragrance ‘Scent From Above’

Just when you think the woman who has done everything has nothing new to explore, Dolly Parton sashays in with her steaming cup of ambition yet again. As if being a successful singer, songwriter, actress, activist, and amusement park owner wasn’t enough, Dolly is now diving into the beauty world. Which when you think about, is long overdue.
A self-proclaimed ‘Backwoods Barbie’, Dolly personifies what glamour truly is. From her collection of designer wigs, to her signature cool toned smoky eyes to her glossy pink lips this Southern gal knows her way around a beauty counter. Now for all of us guys and girls who grew up loving and relating to Dolly’s unapologetic need for all things ultra-feminine, she is now blessing us with her own fragrance. Which means we get to smell like Dolly y’all!
The perfume which has the cheeky name of Scent From Above will ironically make it’s television debut during one of the biggest, testosterone driven sporting events of the year, the Superbowl. In a commercial for Squarespace Dolly sings “5 to 9” which is of course a new take on her classic hit “9 to 5”. The commercial will coincide with her own fragrance website’s launch, as well as sharing the fragrance’s availability to the public. While no distinct details have been shared about what inspired the fragrance or it’s actual scent, we can get a sneak sniff before purchasing an entire bottle. Through the website, Dolly fans will be able to purchase deluxe sample sizes of the fragrance for $10. Should they choose to replenish, repeat customers will receive a $10 credit to use toward the full-sized bottle when it becomes available this July.
On her official website Dolly shares “Fragrance has always played a major role in my life – I wear my own combination of scents every day,” said Dolly Parton. “I am so excited to share this dream with my fans. Developing my own brand and scent with Edge Beauty has been an amazing experience, and I am looking forward to becoming a big part of the fragrance community.”
I am already completely captivated by the stunning bottle which is designed in a beautiful shade of blush pink with Dolly’s signature embossed on the front, and a crystal-like butterfly perched on top. The butterfly has been symbolic in Dolly’s life since she was a young girl in Sevierville, Tennessee running through fields trying to catch butterflies like she would eventually chase and capture dreams.
