Get The Look: Jennifer Hudson’s Deep Violet Eyes & Rose Gold Lips From The “Respect” L.A. Premiere
When you’re celebrating playing the Queen of Soul you gotta go big, or go home. That is just what “Respect” star Jennifer Hudson did last night at the film’s L.A. premiere.
As if JHud isn’t already doing Aretha Franklin proud by perfectly portraying her life story on the big screen, she is also honoring the late songstress on the red carpet. For last night’s event Jennifer went bold and dramatic with both her fashion and beauty looks. The Oscar winner donned a dazzling deep violet sequin gown by Dolce & Gabbana complete with a mile long train and a silk chiffon veil that fell from the back of her slicked back hair. When it came to Jennifer’s stunning face, makeup artist Adam Burrell took inspiration from her sparkling gown, going for a classic, yet bold beauty look. Dreamgirl skin (get it?), lightly smoked out plumy-purple eyes with a flicked out wing, Terracotta cheeks and a rose-gold lip with just a hint of twinkling sheen were the stars of the show. I love when an actress pays homage to an icon (especially when they are playing her on-screen) and Jennifer executed the glamour and pose of Aretha beautifully from head-to-toe with this winning look.
