Beauty Report: Morphe x Jeffree Star Collection
Beauty mogul Jeffree Star not only runs his very own successful cosmetics empire, he also is a Youtube and social media superstar. Known for steering clear of discount codes and collaborations, when the news broke Jeffree was teaming up with the always affordable Morphe, the beauty community was left a little shook. But, you can bet if Jeffree has decided to collab with a brand, it’s gonna be something good.
Star revealed in his video announcing the collection that this was all about him as am individual, and has nothing to do with Jeffree Star Cosmetics. Which makes sense considering Jeffree himself has had a long running relationship with the Morphe brand. As of right now it is the only US store you can walk in and purchase JS Cosmetics. A lot of people were speculating that the two would create an eyeshadow palette together, but instead the pieces take things back to Morphe’s roots-brushes.
Jeffree was one of the first Youtubers I ever saw mention Morphe brushes, and I, like so many have now been using them for years. It really came as no surprise to me that of all the items the two could have created together that makeup applicators feels like the best fit. Of course this collection had to get the pink JS treatment. Jeffree is known for being the ultimate Barbie girl, and these glamorous, ultra girly brushes perfectly represent him. The seven brushes include a Size Queen Brush, a Point-Blank Precision Brush, an Iconic Contour Brush a Fly High Brush, a Crease Kween Brush, a Rule Blender Brush, and a Double Trouble Brush. Each handle is made to resemble am icy diamond meets a sexy stiletto, both Jeffree staples. The brushes can be bought as a set for $49 (including a Starstruck case) or individually.
The brushes aren’t the only beauty tools up for grabs, there will also be a special Jeffree Star pink beauty sponge set. The trio features Morphe’s beloved full size option as well as two minis (perfect for under the eyes and inner corners.) This one is only $16.
The Morphe x Jeffree Star collection will be dropping on February 5th at 10 AM PST online and inside Morphe stores. I haven’t seen any word on if Ulta will be getting this collection, but you best believe my fingers and toes are both crossed.
