Beauty Report: Luminess Cosmetics x Sir John “The Lion King” Collection

As if I wasn’t already beaming with excitement to see Beyoncé in Disney’s live-action version of “The Lion King” next month, now it has been revealed her amazingly talented and longtime makeup artist Sir John has collaborated with Luminess Cosmetics for a collection this is sure to make you roar.

With Queen Bey taking the role of the charming Nala in the film (well her voice anyway) it only makes sense that the man who has worked on her stunning face for so many years would be the one to turn the movie into a swoon-worthy makeup collection. Obviously inspired from the warm colors in the film, Sir John has beautifully captured the essence of the both the the beloved characters and African landscape.

Items up for grabs include a 12-pan eyeshadow palette, a 6-pan sculpting palette, a golden highlighter, liquid and bullet lipsticks, and a tinted lip balm. I think my favorite thing about this collection so far is how the packaging really plays ode to your inner jungle cat. The shade names are also a nice touch for collectors, with titles like the unforgettable “Circle of Life”. Sir John made sure that the products will work on a variety of different skintones, allowing women of all ethnicities to enjoy the line.

The film itself doesn’t hit theaters until July 19th, but these lovely items will be available online at Luminess Cosmetics official website on June 15th, Disney.com and Ulta.com on June 16th and in Ulta stores on July 1st.
