Beauty Report: Colourpop Cosmetics “Hocus Pocus” Collection

Spooky season is right around the corner and if there is one movie everyone has been waiting to be the inspiration of a Halloween beauty collection it’s Disney’s Hocus Pocus. Leave it to the brand that never sleeps, Colourpop to make all of Sanderson Sisters dreams come true.

Being a 90’s kid I myself grew up in the era of Hocus Pocus during it’s original release, but over the last few years a whole new audience have made the film a bigger hit now than it was even back then. Most of us have been waiting for a brand to create a Halloween collection in honor of the film, so when news broke last week that Colourpop Cosmetics has one dropping this week beauty lovers fell off their brooms with excitement.

The collection celebrates the film’s sassy sisters Winifred, Sarah and Mary (played fantastically by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy) as well as loveable black cat Binx. The witchy beauty looks in the movie mostly consist of super smoky dark eyes, heavily blushed cheeks and variations of deep red lips. The overall color scheme of the movie is of course that of rich fall shades. Which is why this palette most definitely gets my seal of approval. As usual, I knew there would be the whiners crying for yet ANOTHER palette of bright, crazy shades. But, that’s simply not how the film looks. Colourpop honors the characters and distinct features from the film beautifully with rich hues of orange, purple, green and brown. Besides, it’s a Halloween movie, not a film about the circus.

You can even buy the entire collection as a bundle for $130 if you simply can’t choose which items are a must-have.
