The 47th Annual Chaplin Award Gala was held last night in NYC honoring the lovely Cate Blanchett and her extraordinary work in film. Being the impeccable movie star that she is, Cate naturally did not disappoint with her look for the evening.
Donning an elegant all black, dazzling Louis Vuitton gown, Cate gave us the glamour we have come to expect from her. Yet another thing she always seems to nail is her beautiful, effortless beauty looks; thanks to her longtime makeup artist Mary Greenwell ,with whom Cate has worked with for decades now. Since Cate was the honoree she naturally had to look her best, and that is just what she did. For the celebrated occasion Mary played up Cate’s striking blue eyes with a soft- yet smoky midnight blue-grey eyes, accompanied by luminous skin and a pretty warm pinky-mauve nude lip. Simplicity always works best on a sophisticated lady like Ms Blanchett, and I personally think this was the perfect look for an event that was all about her.
