The Nail Files: Essie’s Nostalgic ‘90s Fall Collection

As a girl who grew up during the 90’s, I was beyond excited to see one of my favorite nail brands paying homage to the unforgettable decade.

Cher Horowitz, Romy & Michele, Kelly Taylor and Brenda Walsh-all of my favorite ladies of the 90’s come to mind when viewing this fun collection by Essie. The 6 new shades range from powdery pink to a grungy blue-green. The majority of the colors are more on the cool-tone side, which is a very unexpected turn for the autumn season. The polish names are filled with sly puns and odes to the best slang, and favorites of that decade. ‘Mix Taupe’ is a cheeky play on a mixed tape, while ‘Saved By The Belle’ is clearly a nod to Kelly Kapowski.
