Beauty Report: Urban Decay’s Heavy Metals Collection For Holiday 2017
Urban Decay is known for their super pigmented, metallic Heavy Metal shadows and eyeliners and now the successful brand is expanding on the sparkle trend with two brand new palettes and new additions to the glitter fam.
The Heavy Metals Eyeshadow Palette is described as “shadow mayhem in a crushed metal case. We packed this limited-edition palette with 20 of our most amped-up metallic shadows yet—and every single one is NEW and exclusive.” For anyone who have used this formula before, you know to expect major shimmer impact. My favorite thing about this palette is the way it is set up with a vibrant, slightly cooler tone side and a warm selection across from it. A very well sized mirror separates the two color schemes. All of the shades offer a glam rock vibe than can be easily intensified from day to evening. I of course gravitate towards the warmer shades, but as freelance makeup artist, I appreciate the variety for when you want to mix things up. The price for this stunner is a reasonable $55. That may seem a little high for a palette, but with 20 shades, a very nice mirror, and the quality this is basically a bargain.
One of my favorite UD items, their Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner is introducing 6 new shades to the sparkle family. This product is not only great for lining the eyes and adding a hint of shine, they also make for great eyeshadow toppers. The new colors range from pale twinkling pink to electric rocker blue. Each liner retails for $20 and since it takes very little to achieve maximum payoff, you will have plenty of uses before it runs out.
Another new member to the Metals collection is the Vice Metal Meets Matte Lipstick Palette. The kit includes 12 (6 new) shades that can take you from bold and bright to dark and sultry. There are six metallized shades and six matte shades, all in the favorited Urban Decay Vice formula. The palette comes with a retractable lip brush and is perfect for traveling and for makeup artists on the go. This little beauty will run you $35.
