Beauty News: Ashley Graham Becomes First Plus-Size Beauty Ambassador For Revlon
“How is it even possible that Revlon has never had a ‘plus size’ model as a beauty ambassador?” The question most likely many of you are asking yourself, much as I did when I first heard this news. But, it’s very true. Model and body positivity activist Ashley Graham has been breaking down beauty standards left and right over the last few years and I absolutely love and applaud her for it.
I don’t think I have been as excited for something like this since she landed the Sports Illustrated cover last year. I guess when we think of beauty ads we don’t really think of size or race or gender…or maybe that’s just me. So for a brand as huge and as well known as Revlon to have never had a beauty ambassador that is considered ‘plus size’ was quite shocking to me. Ashley has one of the most stunning faces in the modeling world today, and after-all isn’t it your face that’s selling the makeup, not your waist? In any case, I could not be more happy to see the makeup and skincare world finally showing that there isn’t one kind of beauty. Ashley is wildly confident and helps women every day realize that looking and feeling good has no specefic number in the back of your dress. I think this is a step in the right direction for both Revlon and cosmetic brands all around the globe. I am very excited to see Ashley’s individual ad campaigns and the new attitude she is bound to bring to the Revlon brand.
