Beauty Report: Jeffree Star Cosmetics Summer 2018 Collection

With what feels like every beauty guru to ever hit Youtube coming out with their own makeup line, I find it very hard to get excited about most of them. But when it comes to the OG of building his empire, nobody delivers creative, colorful collections quite like Jeffree Star.
Jeffree will probably always be a controversial mogul in the beauty world, but I personally have nothing but respect for his hustle and perseverance. While I myself am a more warm toned eye/nude lip kinda girl, when it comes to makeup Jeffree is the king of color. He of course does incorporate the more wearable shades so many of us desire, but he’s really found his niche by thinking outside the makeup box.
For his brand’s 2018 Summer collection, Mr.Star is giving us dreamcicle fantasy realness. The collection includes 8 new liquid lipstick shades, 4 new lip scrubs, 3 new hand mirrors, 3 new makeup bags, and of course the highly anticipated Thirsty eyeshadow palette. And even though they were missing from the sneak peek video, there will also be a brand new liquid Frost highlighter. Jeffree gave us a glimpse into the collection over the weekend including a orange crush look he created with the products.
Summer palettes aren’t usually my thing since I am not into bold color, but the metallics alone in this palette are calling my name. I love their liquid appearance and the fact they’re more like a pressed pigment/glitter. I am also very excited about the train case makeup bag. I purchased one of his reflective cases when they first launched and it is so roomy and well made, especially for the price.
