Karl Lagerfeld’s Spring Couture 2019 collection for Chanel might have been all about 18th century sophistication, but the runway makeup was an explosion of Bowie inspired rocker beauty.
The 70’s glamour rock makeup was a chic contrast to the romantic styles worn by the models. Smoky navy-meets-teal and black smoky eyes, sculpted cheekbones, matte skin and a fiery red lip made for one grand entrance. Chanel’s Global Creative Makeup and Color Designer, Luica Pica’s pretty in punk vibe also translated to attendees. Chanel muse Kristen Stewart also rocked the Bowie look from her metallic Pre-Fall frock to her voluminous 80’s pompadour. Makeup artist Beau Nelson clearly wanted Stewart’s makeup to mimic the runway and the result was sensational.
