GorJess Travels: The Louis Vuitton X Exhibition On Rodeo Drive

You can’t love fashion and not have an appreciation for one of the world’s most valuable luxury brands, Louis Vuitton. On a recent trip to Los Angeles I got lucky when only a few days before I arrived the Louis Vuitton X Exhibition on Rodeo Drive was extended. Needless to say I immediately fit it right into my schedule.
The two story building which sits firmly on one of Beverly Hills most visited luxurious streets is hard to miss. With it’s quilted like effect in neon shades of hot pink, lemon and tangerine the building itself invites you in. I would even dare to say it calls to you. Upon arriving guests are greeted with free entry with lots of warm smiles by chicly dressed LV employees. As you start the journey you quickly realize each room is an experience within itself. From images of Basquiat art splattered on the walls to Kanye West blaring through the speakers, you truly feel like you have entered the world of Louis. There are several vintage and collectors pieces sprinkled about like a Karl Lagerfeld designed punching bag, Grace Coddington cat print pajamas and the ever-popular Takashi Murakami monogram (a longtime favorite of mine.) I think my personal favorite room was the one that houses oodles of red carpet gowns. Celebrity fashion moments from Taylor Swift, Alicia Vikander, Emma Stone and more decorate the pale pink space with flashing video playing around them. If you have ever wondered if these custom made and fresh off the runway pieces look just as glamorous and expensive in person, wonder no more. Each design is like it’s own piece of art, with every little detail making one more special than the next.
On the top floor attendees have the opportunity to shop from a mini pop-up like store filled with beautiful LV goodies. The prices are just as high, but you have to keep in mind that you are basically making an investment. Because true luxury always comes at a cost. One of the nicest touches is the open balcony where viewers are free to take in the glory that is Rodeo Drive and snap Instagram worthy photos from their unforgettable visit to the incredible land of Vuitton.
