Carolina Herrera is a fashion designer known for her iconic, ladylike designs. Her use of bold color and prints delivered in a no-fuss manner has made her a favorite on both red carpets and in editorial spreads for over 30 years. She has also become a favorite amongst First Ladies of the White House, dressing the likes of Jackie O to Michelle Obama.  Now the fashion queen is making her way into the world of accessorizing beauty.

Leave it to Ms.Herrera and her creative director daughter Carolina A. Herrera to turn makeup into a hot new accessory that is sure to become an Instagram sensation for it’s photo-worthiness alone. While beauty pieces are usually stowed away in our cosmetic bags and vanity drawers, Carolina is starting a new trend to make makeup a part of our look in more ways than one. Her new beauty line features 36 shades of lipstick, 8 powders, a mattifier and highlighter as well as makeup brushes. The accessories that will take these products to the next level include include 10 printed cases, 10 tassels and 3 charms compatible with the lipsticks; 4 printed cases for the compacts; and a Carolina Herrera-engraved jewelry-like ring that clips onto all. The CH brand has already had a successful venture into fragrance, and I have no doubt these little beauties will have the same triumphant outcome.

My favorite thing about this launch is how Herrera’s effortless regal style has transcended into each piece, and will most definitely up the ante on how important makeup is to a complete look.  Now when we whip out a lipstick for a touch-up onlookers will not only be curious what shade we’re applying, but also eyeing the packaging on these elegant designs. The line is also a more affordable way to own a little piece of the Herrera world for those of us who can’t afford her beautiful fashion creations.
