Get The Look: Katy Perry’s Elegant Inauguration Glamour

Yesterday was a historic day in America as the new President of the United States, Joe Biden and the first ever female Vice President Kamala Harris made their titles official with an Inauguration filled with hope, beauty and most importantly unity.  The list of performers for the event was basically a Divas 2021 lineup (they clearly knew we needed this) including beautiful, doe-eyed powerhouse Katy Perry.

Katy’s style has always been a little wacky and fun, but still polished at the same time; however if there was ever an event to exude timeless elegance this was it. During the evening Inauguration special Celebrating America Katy belted out her beloved hit “Firework” while breathtaking bursts of colors exploded above our nation’s Capital. For her performance the American Idol judge donned a regal, custom Thom Browne design featuring a white cashmere coat, white duchess silk satin corset and matching skirt.  A look I am guessing was greatly inspired by Jackie Kennedy’s own inauguration look from 1961. Seeing as how Jackie’s Ethel Franken creation (which Jackie herself drew sketches of) was very similar, as was her sophisticated hair and makeup. I mean, if you’re going to have a Jackie moment The White House is a pretty good place to do it at.

Makeup artist Michael Anthony is almost always the master behind Katy’s flawless beauty looks, and for this one in particular he kept things simple yet glamorous.  Since her gown was so chic and refined, the makeup aligned on a similar note playing up the songstress’s dreamy skin, big expressive eyes and full pouty lips.  Using only a few Armani Beauty products he turned darling Katy into the belle of the ball.
