Get The Look: Janelle Monae’s Graphic Liner and Glowing Skin At The 2021 NAACP Image Awards
When it comes to trendsetting and thinking outside of the box on the red carpet no one does it better than the stunning Janelle Monet. From her show-stopping fashion choices to her head-turning beauty looks, she is a pioneer of modern Hollywood glamour; at yesterday’s NAACP Image Awards she left us in awe once again.
Sticking to her signature love of all things black & white the singer/actress donned a Christian Siriano Fall 2021 design featuring an asymmetrical neckline, a subtle cheetah print sleeve and a midriff cut-out detail. I mean, if you’re going to have a body this fit you might as well show it off! However, the body-hugging gown wasn’t the only thing making a statement, Janelle‘s hair and makeup made plenty of waves on their own. Makeup artist Emily Cheng played up the Best Actress nominee’s beautiful skin by giving it a blinding glowy finish, and got creative and funky with her eyes by creating an unexpected graphic effect. I love the creativity behind this particular feature and how it elevates the entire look to the next dimension. For a blast of bold color Emily opted for scarlet red lips and deep rose hued cheeks.
Even though the red carpet is still not totally back to “normal” I am so appreciative that these artists are still working together and giving us such beautiful distractions, and an awards season filled with glitz and glam!
