Lily Collins remains one of my favorites to watch when it comes to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Met Gala. Lily without exception, understands the assignment of theme meets camp perfectly. For this year’s event, which was honoring the work of the late, great Karl Lagerfeld, Lily gave us pretty polished glamour with a touch of dark romance.
The Emily In Paris star graced the red carpet in a custom-made Vera Wang corseted gown with a long, extravagant train detailed with Karl’s name stitched across the bottom in sparkly sequin letters. When it came to her face, artist Fiona Stiles decided to play up Lily’s effortless elegance with a sophisticated beauty look consisting of smoked out chocolatey eyes, smooth alabaster skin, soft rosy cheeks, and a vampy red lip. Hairstylist Gregory Russell topped off the look with a pinned under old Hollywood style, that Lily pulled off flawlessly. This was one of the looks that I instantly knew would be Karl approved as it captured his impeccable, timeless taste beautifully.
