I guess it’s safe to say we can officially call this the Summer of Zendaya. From the series finale of HBO’s Euphoria to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey to Dune: Part 3 to Spider-Man: A Brand New Day, this little lady has been going nonstop. Of course as charming as Z is, one of the best parts of her promo tours will always be the fashion and beauty. The way she and her glam team have delivered something fresh and on-theme at every stop should be a coffee table book all of it’s own.
For the L.A. premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Zendaya and her stylist extraordinaire Law Roach took us on a spider-inspired journey with a showstopping look from Ashi Studio. The structural piece wasn’t too on the nose at referencing an actual spider, but the subtle hints were definitely there. The vision was clear and the execution impeccable. Hair and makeup are just as important to an unforgettable look, and thanks to MUA master Ernesto Casillas the red carpet has seen some of the best beauty moments of the year. To accompany Z’s bold and daring dress, Ernesto took her makeup on a sultry, grungy, smoky and smudgy turn. I love the the way her eyes are kind of like a glamourous oil spill combined with beautiful flecks of golden olive shimmer. The skin was smooth and glowing, with rich cherry bomb cheeks and a soft and subdued deep nudey mauve lip.
At this point the only person Zendaya might be “competing” with is herself, because she has set the bar so very high that is still amazes me that each look she turns out is somehow even more innovative and breathtaking than the last. And with rumors swirling that Z might just be the next face of Prada Beauty and Fragrance (much like her hunky hubby Tom Holland) I can already see more stunning looks like this one in the very near future.
