Beauty Report: Jason Wu Launches First Fragrance Starring Lily Aldridge
For the past decade Jason Wu has delivered femininity with an edge in his highly sought after ready to wear fashion. After dabbling in the beauty world with collaborative collections with the likes of Lancome and Shiseido, Wu is diving into fragrance.
The namesake perfume will have a “fresh, floral, and woody scent’ and will be sold exclusively in all Saks Fifth Avenue stores for three months starting August 17th. The packaging might look familiar to fashion lovers, as the bottle is is modeled after the designer’s Fragrance Box Clutch from his Fall 2017 collection. The blush pink hue is a nod to the powder compacts of the 1950’s, a favorite era of Mr.Wu’s. A bottle will set you back $145, which is a bit on the higher end side considering most new designer fragrances start out at a more attainable cost, usually under $100. Of course when you’re starting out on the beauty floor at Saks most customers aren’t going to find this number the least bit outlandish. The face of the campaign is one of the brand’s frequent muses, model and Victoria’s Secret Angel Lily Aldridge. Lily exudes a natural freshness that is idea for a fragrance like this one. The campaign was shot by famed photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The softness and simplicity of both the bottle, the scent, and the ad campaign are all inviting and is sure to lure in many a fragrance fan.
Below are a few photos of the perfume to hold you over until you can get your hands on it next month.
